You know, I kinda wish that God would write me a letter. Like, to me. You know, to Batya, love God? I know the Bible has been called God's love letter, but it's not exactly in the traditional form of a letter.
...But isn't that kind of the point? God doesn't do things how we do. He does things way cooler. When was the last time your lover wrote HISTORY to tell you how much they love you? When was the last time your friend, the person you like, your bf/gf or spouse wrote a huge book that spanned a couple thousand years to tell you how much they love you, and lovingly show you what's best for you by examples of others? Oh, by the way, they've been planning this out for you since before you were born. Since before the WORLD was made. They were thinking of you.
Ps. They also made the flowers and the sunrise to show you how much they love you.
Oh, and pps. you've rejected them, spurned them, and are COMPLETELY and UTTERLY unworthy of them.
And yet He pursues you.
THIS is the ultimate love letter.
Or better yet, the ultimate love story.
You have no idea how many times I wished for the same thing that I think a lot of us wish for. For GOD, or someone else in our lives to write a love letter that was only written for specifically you. But we being human, we fail to realize that true love comes from GOD.
ReplyDeleteJust last Saturday when my youth group and I went skiing, an amazing, beautiful and heart tugging realization came over me, while I going up the chair lift alone, trying to find my youth group.
I lifted my face and just stared at the starry night time sky. Please don't laugh, you guys I'm sure have done this sometimes in your life. But the stars above me, just took my breath a way! And honestly, at that momment, I felt as if GOD were giving me a love letter, right then and there.
I reached out for the letter, and I opened it. What my eyes saw and read was the beauty of GOD'S creation. And you know what I said to myself? I said to myself: "Oh man, JESUS you are the romance of life!"
